What if I am not a Christian, will Bob still work with me ? Absolutely! I work with people of all faiths. Many professional Christian therapists will say, "I am a therapist who happens to be a Christian." While I am a therapist and a Christian, I cannot separate from myself my worldview and faith as a Christian. Out of respect for my clients I will not, however, impose my faith on them. I recognize that many people seek my services specifically because I share their faith and worldview as a Christian, and others do not. I see several clients that came seeking my services as a professional therapist only, and are not interested in integrating the Christian faith into therapy. Usually this does not cause a conflict but I can always refer to another therapist, either Christian or non-Christian, if necessary. |
